Monday, January 20, 2020

Amman, (Petra)-- A cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, on Sunday, approved the Minister of Labour, Nidal Bataineh's recommendation to continue the implementation of the previous Cabinet Resolution No. 7140 issued on 10/28/2019 regarding reducing fees for daily wage permit (free permit) after the expiration of grace periods and legalise of status of non-Jordanian workers.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Labour will continue collecting an amount of JD700 as fees for daily work permits (agricultural), and JD900 as fees for daily work permits (construction, loading and offloading), permanently and in a manner that isn't related to the grace period of legalising and rectifying status of non-Jordanian workers, which will expire at the end this month after its extension as a final and last extension, as per the cabinet's resolution.

The Prime Minister gave the Legislation and Opinion Bureau instructions to amend the system of work permit fees for non-Jordanian workers in the light of today's decision and to refer the amendment draft to the system for approval in the cabinet's next meeting.
